Today we were treating the extended family to a day out in RR Family Spring Resort. We hired a bus for everyone from Gingoog City and took everyone in our car from CDO.
I was ill today so I don’t remember a whole lot of it and you may see me and Nica wearing a facemask where others aren’t to protect everyone else. I will get the details from Nica where needed!
We started early and made our way to Jollibee. Can’t start a journey without food! Fries for breakfast? Why not!?
Nica always has excellent taste in what to wear; you may notice by now we’re often in matching outfits, this is no accident!
Part of the way along the journey we stopped off at a Church so that a prayer could be offered for our safe travels to our destination today.
There are a great number of churches in the Philippines and many of them are beautiful. We then got back in the car/minibus and made our way back on the road. We stopped at a monument to the native people of the Philippines. While here I took the opportunity to buy a hat as Pasalubong.
It was time to hit the road again shortly thereafter. By now I am starting to feel a bit out of it due to the meds I was on, so you are not the only one seeing these places for the first time through images!
Along the way, we passed a great, big government building. I am not sure what it was for but it looks more like a palace or mansion than what I’d expect a government building to look like!
Next stopping place was another church, the design of which was not something I’d seen before. I don’t remember a whole lot about it, many memories of Stargate came to mind but that may have been the meds! I am also fairly sure I was told this is where I’ll get married so who knows what planet I was on at the time!
We got going once more and had just one more stop on the way to our final destination. This time we stopped for lunch. I am not sure where the food came from but everyone in Philippines always really enjoys their meals! There was a great many wild dogs around here, I figure they all must get the leftovers from the visitors stopping for food.
Once everyone had their fill, it was time to get back in the car/minibus for one final ride. To RR Famiyl Spring Resort we go! I was surprised how small the road to it was but once we made it to the gate, there was great relief all around!
Once we got inside, Nica and I made our way to our lodge while the fam made their way to their lodgings for the night. We got washed up and met again for food and an evening of games and dancing, some of it (mine) terrible! We did fairly well at the games though, coming second only to Mama Bernadette and Carlo so I am pleased! I think for the dancing I should at least get a B for effort.
