Dahilayan Forest Resort – Bridge, Luge, Karts, Boats and Golf!

We woke up early in the cabin. We had a beautiful view out of the room into the woods below. This place reminds me a lot of Woodlands in Devon (though it’s been 20+ years since I’ve been!) to give you an idea of what it’s like there.

We headed up to the café to get breakfast. It’s just a short walk (though very uphill!) from the accomodation. We’d need lots of energy for the day ahead! Of course, there was time for posing while we waited on the food…

After this, we headed up to reception to get our stamps. As we are residents of the accomodation, we are entitled to a discount on the rides, so we made full use of it today!

Our first destination was the hanging bridge that spanned across the luge (more on that later). This was quite high up and single file, I didn’t have any issue with it but there was lots of wobbling going on and one member of the party may have screamed for her mama! 😂

After the hanging bridge, we headed to the luge! This is a bit like the toboggan at Woodlands, powered by gravity and there’s a stick you lean to turn and pull to brake. I had a lot of fun but I think Nica was terrified, bless her! I don’t get a chance to do this sort of thing any more with my eyesight so I made the most of it and thankfully, survived!

After the luge, we had a go on the go-karts. They’re pedal powered so not very fast but still a lot of fun! We didn’t get any photos on these sadly, too much effort on pedaling! Once all of our “high speed” action was out of the way, we stopped for lunch. There was a restaurant that looked like it was based on 50s/60s America! Some really cool old cars and a menu sort of like a diner along with the music to match!

Next, it was time to head back up the hill. On the way up, we saw a cool “road train” that was sadly not operating, meant a long walk for us! We did get to see some of the local wildlife on the way though, so not all bad!

Our next destination was the bumper boats. These were a bit underwhelming in truth, not very fast and the area to use them in was quite small. Luckily there was just us on the water so we still had a good time!

Next up, we were back at the top of the hill and had a game of crazy golf. The rules were interesting, the competition was fierce and the fun was flowing! We had a really good time, I am fairly sure I came in last place 😂. There’s not any photos of the golf, sorry!

After this we had lunch and then it was time to go home sadly.

That’s it from Dahilayan and us for today. Please join us tomorrow, it’ll be our last full day together in CDO (for now) and I don’t know what the plans are yet, but I’m sure it’ll be wonderful!
