To Camiguin Island we go!

After a good nights sleep in Bhayay, we woke up early to enjoy the sunrise together out on the beach. What a wonderful sight we were rewarded with! Check out these shots:

After this we went back up to the house, on the way in, we took the opportunity for some more shots on the cargo net, and got a visit from a neighbourly dog!

After we had breakfast we packed up the car and got ready to head north-west towards Balingoan. It’s only a 20 minute or so drive along the coast. Balingoan itself was not very exciting, though we met Nica’s Papa there as he bussed in from CDO. He was meeting us to drive the car and the rest of the fam back to CDO as Nica and I headed for the ferry terminal!

The ferry was about £10 each and took nearly 2.5 hours which is apparently slower than usual. We heard there were some overweight vehicles aboard which slowed us significantly. Not to worry though, we got a nice cool breeze and some incredible views!

Once we arrived in Benoni, we picked up our rental car and headed north towards our AirBNB residence just outside Mambajao. We bumped into some Ducks along the way who had zero interest or intention of getting out the way of the 2 tonnes of metal coming their way!

It took a bit of finding, the AirBNB host was brand new and didn’t have the greatest directions to the property, thankfully Nica spoke the locals’ language and we were directed to the right location.
Upon arrival we were excited to get inside and have a good rest after a long day travelling and carrying luggage about!

Just outside the property, we were greeted by the caretaker and an amazing little dog called Bogbog.

We met some local wildlife inside the property (yes, a lizard!) too!
