Today we had a busy schedule, we travelled out on a tour Nica found on FB to a place called the Simala Shrine. It’s based in Sibonga, Cebu and is a Roman Catholic site bearing the image of Our Lady of Lindogon.
The 4 of us went along with the driver, took about 3 hours in the car!
After this we stopped at an eatery on the way back to Mandaue City, I used the time ot pick up some Pasalubong/Souvenirs for family back home!
After this we returned to the accomodation for a well needed changed of clothes. The heat in Philippines certainly takes some getting used to!
We then went for a drive in our hire car. The traffic in Cebu is something else, I wonder if all of the Philippines is like this, Nica and the Manghuds say yes. It’s absolute chaos, rules seem optional and I wondered if I’d survive the night, never mind the holiday!
We stopped off for food at a place called Cebu IT Park. It’s a business park designed to attract IT investors and business. It’s really beautiful and colourful. The girls had some food but Jastine had to run home early in a taxi (more on that later), while me, Nica and Sheena stayed for food and then Nica drove us home.
Once we got home, my luggage had finally arrived. At least it was only a day late Emirates, thank you! Jastine’s tattoo was nearly done and I was next. I wasn’t entirely convinced during the day when Nica was asking but when I saw Jastine’s, I was convinced it was a good idea. Nica and I were going to get matching ones, I’d have the moon on my right wrist and she’d have the Sun on her left wrist. I wasn’t sure what the pain would be like but honestly I barely felt anything. I love how they turned out though, it didn’t take long, only about 20 minutes or so I think!
After this we went for another drive, over the longest bridge in the Philippines! It was not easy to see a lot given it was dark but it was a nice drive and the lights were beautiful!
After this we went home to bed for a well-deserved rest!
