Route 955 to Duka Bay!

This morning we set out in the car with the Fam to head up Route 955 towards Gingoog City (Nica’s hometown) and Duka Bay Resort. We’d be meeting the rest of the family and treating them to a night in Duka Bay!

Route 955 was really interesting, it’s a highway across some steep mountains with plenty of curves and undulations. I’d love to have ridden my bikes here back in the day! Some of the surroundings were beautiful along the 5 hours or so in the car!

We stopped off along the way to give Nica a break from driving (well deserved!). Our first stop was at a beautiful little roadside cafe. It was wooden and built on the side of a mountain overlooking the jungle.

Along the way we saw even more interesting wildlife and buildings, some of which I have no idea of their purpose, but they’re cool nonetheless!

The next stop was at this place with the cool, big fruits! We didn’t go inside as it was busy and getting foggy so we took some pictures and moved on!

Next stop was a place called Lorenz Farm. This was really cool, me and Nica did some dancing, met some bunny rabbits and even made a wish together! The fancing was strictly professional too!

We bumped into this shrine to Christ The King. Apparently it’s the tallest one in Asia at 75 feet and they’re building a faith tourist park around it.

Finally we arrived into Gingoog City and stopped at Tita Susan’s place. Here I met Tita Susan and Lino as well as young Vince and Amira for the first time.

We finally made it to Duka Bay Resort. Me and Nica had a room and the Fam had a room too. It was a beautiful location right on the beach and a wonderful place to celebrate Jastine becoming officially an RN! Congratulations Jastine, well deserved!
